Kyo ICHINOSE:
Born in Tokyo in 1972. Graduated from the Department of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and completed the Master’s Program at the university’s Graduate School of Music. Received the Ataka Award while still a student.
Began working as a contemporary music composer during university studies. In 2002, released the first solo album Yorokobi no Kikai on the Current label, for which Yoshihiro Hanno served as A&R, presenting a distinctive and richly textured approach to electronic music.
Since then, has produced a total of four solo albums, including Lontano (cubicmusic, 2004), Protoplasm (starnetmuzik, 2007), and Earthrise 2064 (Plop / Mu-nest, 2011). These works have received strong international recognition, particularly in Europe. Lontano was selected as one of the “50 Records Of The Year plus specialist charts” in Rewind 2005, a special feature by WIRE (UK).
In addition to solo work, has pursued a wide-ranging, cross-genre practice that continually explores the boundary between sound and music. This includes commissioned works for both Western and traditional Japanese instruments, composition for television commercials, collaborations with visual artists, and sound programming for installations.
Since 2022, has served as a member of the Arrangement Review Committee of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC).
一ノ瀬響：
1972年、東京生まれ。東京芸術大学音楽学部作曲科卒業、同大学大学院音楽研究科修士課程修了。在学中に安宅症受賞。大学在学中より現代音楽の作曲家として活動をスタートさせる。2002年、独自の豊穣なエレクトロニクスミュージックにより、半野喜弘がA&Rを務めるCurrentレーベルより初のソロアルバム「よろこびの機械」をリリースする。以降、「Lontano」(cubicmusic, 2004年)、”Protoplasm”(starnetmuzik, 2007年)、”Earthrise 2064″(Plop/Mu-nest, 2011年)と合計４枚のソロアルバムを制作、UKの音楽雑誌”WIRE”の特集 ‘Rewind 2005’ にて ‘50 Records Of The Year plus specialist charts’ の一枚に選出されるなど、ヨーロッパをはじめとする海外から高い評価を受ける。またソロ活動以外に、洋楽器、邦楽器のための数々の委嘱作品、CM音楽の作曲やビジュアルアーティストとのコラボレーション、インスタレーションのサウンドプログラミングまで、常に音と音楽の境界を探るジャンル横断的活動を展開している。2022年より日本音楽著作権協会(JASRAC)の編曲審査委員会の委員を務めている。
